Rough grossing
Change trimming and/or scalpel blades more frequently to prevent damage
Poor tissue processing
Soak block on ice bath to soften overprocessed, hard tissue; reprocess appropriately if under processed
Rough handling in water bath to dislodge wrinkles
Approach sections more gently with forceps or needles
Floating in water bath too long or in water that is too hot
Pick up sections in a timelier manner or reduce temperature in water bath
