The Tissue-Tek Film® Automated Coverslipper is the fastest and only film coverslipper in the world capable of connecting to the Tissue-Tek Prisma® Plus Automated Slide Stainer to increase pathology laboratory productivity. With over 3 billion slides coverslipped with our xylene activated adhesive-backed Tissue-Tek® Coverslipping Film, now in its 5th generation, the Film Coverslipper is the clear choice for laboratories worldwide for over 30 years
The Tissue-Tek Film Coverslipper’s unprecedented throughput of up to 1,080 slides per hour remains unmatched. The fast drying time reduces the long wait encountered when trays of glass coverslipped slides are air-dried. Pathologists are provided with clean high quality slides faster. The coverslipper's cleverly designed features alert you when solvent or Coverslipping Film levels are low. Built-in safeguards ensure that the basket in progress is completed before reagent or Film supplies are depleted.
Whether standalone or connected to the Prisma stainer, the Film Coverslipper’s unload carousel holds up to 240 slides, providing on-board storage and minimizing frequency of unloading small batches of coverslipped slides. Connect the Tissue-Tek Film Coverslipper to the Tissue-Tek Prisma® Plus stainer to create an integrated, fully automated walkaway staining process from slide baking to slide drying.
The Coverslipping Film is validated for use with the Hologic® Thin Prep® Stain Plus Imaging System. It is also ideal for slide scanning and digital imaging, and found to scan 3.7% faster than glass!
Film coverslipped slides have been shown to have less artifacts after 10 years of storage compared to glass coverslipped slides.
Pairing the Prisma® Plus with the Film® Coverslipper reduced scanning errors dramatically on over 800,000 slides! Read about the Complete Digital Pathology for Routine Histopathology Diagnosis in a Multicenter Hospital Network!
