Sakura Finetek launches the Tissue-Tek Prisma® H&E Stain Kit #1 designed specifically to increase histology laboratory productivity when using the Tissue-Tek Prisma® Stainers.

Product launch    September 20, 2018    America

TORRANCE, CA – Sakura Finetek USA, Inc. today announced the launch of the
Tissue-Tek Prisma® H&E Stain Kit #1, the first and only H&E kit that stains up to 2,500 slides while reducing reagent exchanges.

“The kit has been developed and optimized for best performance when run on our
Tissue-Tek Prisma line of stainers along with a validated stain protocol to delivering reproducible results that pathologists demand”, said George R. Kennedy, Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing, “The ready-to-use kit eliminates the need to measure, dilute or top-off reagents while continuously providing the requested highest stain quality”.

About the Tissue Tek Prisma H&E Stain Kit
This kit is perfectly matched and QC-tested to provide lot-to-lot consistency.  Only Biological Stain Commission-certified dyes are used in the manufacturing process to ensure the highest quality for all kit components.  The Prisma H&E Stain Kit’s patented, custom-designed bottle features ergonomic grips that enables users to more securely hold them to minimize spills while filling the reagents into the reservoirs.  The large bottle opening makes fast and splash-free filling much easier.  The convenient 750 mL size matches the recommended volume for the standard Prisma reservoirs.

The need to track stain information was considered while further developing the Prisma software and designing the labeling and labels; The new kit and all the 6 components are barcoded, enabling the laboratories to use the newly launched Tissue-Tek Prisma® Plus to scan and archive lot numbers and expiration dates.  This new feature improves documentation and helps laboratories comply more easily with CAP and other inspection agencies’ requirements.

About the Tissue-Tek Prisma® Plus Automated Slide Stainer
The recently launched Tissue-Tek Prisma Plus Automated Slide Stainer is the fastest histology slide stainer in the industry staining up to 530 H&E slides per hour.  New features include updated software to gain flexibility, versatility, and to maximize uptime.  New enhancements include the ability for the user to select between 50 stain reagent colors to better identify and differentiate reagents while running multiple protocols in parallel.

The Tissue-Tek Prisma Plus also includes Tissue-Tek® iSupport™, the latest software technology in remote diagnostics and monitoring. Tissue-Tek iSupport enhances the user experience by assisting in providing the quickest service response possible to your laboratory for maximum uptime and minimal downtime.

Finally, by connecting the Tissue-Tek Prisma Plus with either the Tissue-Tek Film® Coverslipper or the Tissue-Tek® Glas™ g2 Coverslipper, laboratories can today create an integrated, fully automated walkaway staining process from slide baking to slide drying.
