Sakura Finetek USA launches the Tissue-Tek Genie^® DUO product line for dual staining on the Tissue-Tek Genie^® Advanced Staining System.

TORRANCE, CA – Sakura Finetek USA, Inc. today announced the launch of the
Tissue-Tek Genie^® DUO product line for the Tissue-Tek Genie^® Advanced Staining System.
 
“The beauty of the DUO product line stained on the Genie Advanced Staining System is that the staining results of two biomarkers can be revealed at the expense of 15 additional minutes of turn-around time (TAT).  This shortened TAT enables the DUO biomarker staining process to be scheduled alongside of single biomarker staining without having the pathologist wait for the result.” said Peter Luu, Senior Vice President of Sakura Bioscience.  “The pair of biomarkers are selected to enhance the information when the tumor transitions from expressing more of one biomarker and diminishing the expression of another biomarker.
A perfect example would be the pair of biomarkers AMACR and p63.  This transition of expression level of two different biomarkers provides better information of benign prostate tissue versus prostate carcinoma” continued Mr. Luu.
 
This new Tissue-Tek Genie^® DUO product line includes a new detection kit as well as antibody cocktails designed for use on the Tissue-Tek Genie Advanced Staining System.
 
This first release includes:
 

• Tissue-Tek Genie^® DUO Mouse-DAB/Rabbit-AP Red Dual Detection Kit
• Tissue-Tek Genie^® DUO anti-Melan A [EP43] /Ki67 [GM010] Antibody Cocktail
• Tissue-Tek Genie^® DUO Non-immune Mouse and Rabbit Ig Antibody Cocktail, Negative Control

 
Like the wide range of antibodies launched previously, also these new antibody cocktails are provided in two formats to serve any laboratory size and workflow:

• Innovative single-use capsules that enable loading of any slide, any stain, any time, on any instrument
• Cartridges with 100 tests for high volume antibodies used every day.
