TORRANCE, CA – Sakura Finetek USA, Inc. today announced the launch of 4 new ready-to-use antibodies for the Tissue-Tek Genie Advanced Staining System.
“We’re pleased to introduce four new ready-to-use antibodies for the Tissue-Tek Genie Advanced Staining System. These additions further strengthen our portfolio of 160 antibodies, expanding support for Neuroendocrine, Breast, and Germ Cell tumor pathology”, stated William Jennings, MBA, Senior Product Manager of Advanced Staining.
“The anti-INSM1 antibody is a highly specific biomarker for neuroendocrine differentiation. Studies have shown that INSM1 demonstrates greater specificity than chromogranin A (CGA) and offers sensitivity comparable to, or in some cases greater than, synaptophysin (SYP) and CD56. This makes it a powerful marker for aiding in identification and confirmation of neuroendocrine neoplasms,” said Dr. Rina DeCamillis, Vice President of Sakura Biosciences.
“TRPS1 has recently gained recognition as an important adjunct immunohistochemical biomarker in the diagnosis of breast carcinoma. It is known for its strong nuclear staining and has been shown to be more sensitive than GATA3 in many studies of triple-negative breast cancers (TNBCs). This makes TRPS1 particularly valuable in TNBCs, where conventional markers often show low or absent expression,” she added.
“In addition, the release includes two robust immunohistochemical biomarkers, OCT3/4 and SALL4, both of which are critical in the diagnostic evaluation of germ cell tumors. OCT3/4 is a well-established, highly sensitive nuclear marker for seminoma and embryonal carcinoma, while SALL4 provides broad sensitivity across a wide spectrum of malignant germ cell neoplasms. Together, they enhance diagnostic accuracy in both primary and metastatic settings,” stated Dr. DeCamillis.
All 4 antibodies received optimal scores from NordiQC,” continued Dr. DeCamillis:
- Tissue-Tek Genie® anti-INSM1 Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody [ZR395]
- Tissue-Tek Genie® anti-TRPS1 Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody [ZR382]
- Tissue-Tek Genie® anti-OCT3/4 Mouse Monoclonal Antibody [C-10]
- Tissue-Tek Genie® anti-SALL4 Mouse Monoclonal Antibody [6E3]
Similar to the wide range of antibodies launched previously, these new antibodies are provided in 2 formats to serve any laboratory size and workflow:
- Innovative single-use capsules to load any slide, any stain, any time, on any instrument
- Cartridges with 250 tests for high volume usage.
About the Genie System
Quality that excites. Sakura Finetek partnered with NordiQC (www.nordiqc.org), a world-leading external quality assurance institute, to assure optimal stain quality for our entire menu of antibodies. The species and clones of Genie antibodies have been carefully selected and proficiently developed to meet our rigorous standards. The stain protocols for Genie antibodies provide exceptional sensitivity and specificity, enabling pathologists to assess patients’ specimens accurately.
Stop sorting, gain time. With its 30 fully independent staining stations, the Genie offers true random access and does not slow down when more slides are added. Users can eliminate time-consuming slide sorting or grouping, and instead simply load their next most important slide or case.
Flexibility that liberates. Laboratories can use Genie’s unique and innovative single-use capsules for antibodies or probes and load them on Genie’s independent staining stations together with the slides. The 250-test Genie Pro Detection Systems (DAB, AP Red, DUO) and antibody cartridges are loaded onto the system’s carousel, which deliver the reagents in constant timed cycles guaranteeing predictable workflow. Genie allows users to realize flexibility, better economy, and faster turnaround time.
Fast to learn, easy to operate. The Genie Software uses intuitive graphics and two mouse-click navigation for simplified operation and provides a comprehensive status at a glance. The replacement of bulk reagents and waste bottles is quick and strain-free.
