TORRANCE, CA – Sakura Finetek USA, Inc. today announced the launch of the Tissue-Tek VIP^® 6 AI Vacuum Infiltration Processor for the preparation of pathological tissue specimens.
 
The VIP 6 AI is the newest iteration of the world’s best-selling tissue processor. The VIP 6 AI continues with Sakura reliability and innovation to provide the only tissue processor on the market with the ability to automatically mix specified reagents onboard to create mixed solutions, providing advanced infiltration of fatty tissues by enhancing dehydration and defatting without extending protocol time. Onboard mixing also reduces employee exposure to hazardous reagents allowing for safer, high quality processing while saving time.
 
In addition to the 7 user-selectable mixing mode options that were available on the previous Tissue-Tek VIP® 6, users now have the choice of 3 new mixing mode options, bringing the total number of options to 10. Providing effective yet gentle agitation of the reagent in the retort, the new mixing mode options provide complete fluid exchange in the retort to provide excellent reagent penetration of tissues.
 
The VIP 6 AI arrives compatible with Tissue-Tek^® iSupport™, Sakura’s advanced remote diagnostics technology platform. Meeting the high-level security standards of today’s laboratories’ IT infrastructures, the secure remote service ensures maximum uptime through fast reaction to instrument alerts by Sakura’s professional technical support team.
 
Keeping with Sakura’s tradition of continuous improvement that has led to an industry-leading reputation in reliability, the VIP 6 AI is equipped with a newly designed reagent manifold, making it the most reliable and safe VIP processor ever. The advanced reagent manifold system includes new fluid sensors offering an improved solution detecting function that helps safeguard against unexpected user errors to maintain the highest level of tissue quality and integrity.
 
The Solution Manager of the VIP 6 AI monitors reagent levels during operation for safe and worry-free processing. Providing fresh reagent from the 2 bulk reagent reservoirs during processing if needed, the Solution Manager   ensures that the VIP 6 AI offers the highest level of processing confidence both during the day when staff is available or overnight during autonomous operation.
 
The VIP 6 AI also delivers strongly on user convenience. Providing in-process Automatic Solution Transfer of two reagents and the paraffin, manual maintenance is significantly reduced, saving both time and money. The onboard paraffin waste container makes the exchange and proper disposal of used paraffin safe, clean, and easy. Color- coded drain and fill ports simplify the safe exchange of reagents onto the instrument. An LED-lit reagent cabinet allows for quick visual observation of reagent levels. Simple, convenient operation combined with the familiarity of  the VIP processor series reduces opportunities for errors and shortens the learning curve, supporting the lab’s ability to hit the ground running on the very first day after installation.
