Sakura Finetek USA launches 6 new ready-to-use antibodies / antibody cocktails for the<br /> Tissue-Tek Genie® Advanced Staining System.<br />

TORRANCE, CA – Sakura Finetek USA, Inc. today announced the launch of 6 new ready-to-use antibodies including 2 new antibody cocktails for the Tissue-Tek Genie® Advanced Staining System.

“We are excited to announce the availability of three ready-to-use antibody/antibody cocktails that contain anti-p40 mouse monoclonal antibody clone BC28 for the Tissue-Tek Genie Advanced Staining System,” said Dr. Rina DeCamillis, Vice President of Sakura Finetek Biosciences. “The anti-p40 antibody is superior in specificity and is equivalent or more sensitive than the anti-p63 antibody. It is a suitable replacement for anti-p63 in the detection of various tumor types when used with a panel of other antibodies. With the introduction of the anti-p40 antibody and its antibody cocktail formats, we provide enhanced diagnostic tools to aid in discriminating squamous cell lung cancer from adenocarcinomas, and invasive breast carcinoma from non-invasive breast lesions”, continued Dr. DeCamillis.

“The addition of these 6 products continue to add to our portfolio of antibodies with high diagnostic utility, such as anti-p40, as well as increasing our Genie DUO product line of antibody cocktails, also scored optimal for stain quality by NordiQC.  Sakura Finetek continues to strive to expand the Genie antibody menu and provide high quality antibodies available to pathologists”, stated William Jennings, Senior Product Manager of Advanced Staining.

The 6 new products include:
  • Tissue-Tek Genie® anti-p40 Mouse Monoclonal Antibody [BC28]
  • Tissue-Tek Genie® anti-p40 / Myosin Smooth Muscle Antibody Cocktail [BC28/SMMS-1]
  • Tissue-Tek Genie® DUO anti-p40 [BC28] / Napsin A [EP205] Antibody Cocktail
  • Tissue-Tek Genie® anti-SMAD4 Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody [EP618Y]
  • Tissue-Tek Genie® anti-E-Cadherin Mouse Monoclonal Antibody [ZM63]
  • Tissue-Tek Genie® anti-PAX8 Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody [RM436]
Like the wide range of antibodies launched previously, these new antibodies and antibody cocktails are provided in 2 packaging and delivery formats to serve any laboratory size and workflow:
  • Innovative single-use capsules that enable loading of any slide, any stain, any time, on any instrument for any volume usage
  • Cartridges with 250 tests for the p40, p40 / Myosin Smooth Muscle antibody cocktail, SMAD4, ECAD and PAX8 and cartridges with 100 tests for the DUO antibody cocktail for high volume usage.

About the Genie System
Picture1.jpgQuality that excites.  Sakura Finetek partnered with NordiQC (www.nordiqc.org), a world-leading external quality assurance institute, to assure optimal stain quality for our entire menu of antibodies.  The species and clones of Genie antibodies have been carefully selected and proficiently developed to meet our rigorous standards.  The stain protocols for Genie antibodies provide exceptional sensitivity and specificity to enable accurate assessment of patients’ specimens by pathologists.

Stop sorting, gain time.  With its 30 fully independent staining stations, the Genie offers true random access and does not slow down when more slides are added.  Users can eliminate time-consuming slide sorting or grouping, and instead simply load their next most important slide or case. Flexibility that liberates.  Laboratories can use Genie’s unique and innovative single-use capsules for antibodies or probes and load them on Genie’s independent staining stations together with the slides.  The 250-test Genie detection systems (DAB, AP Red, DUO) and antibody cartridges are loaded onto the system’s carousel, which deliver the reagents in constant timed cycles guaranteeing predictable workflow. Genie allows users to realize flexibility, better economy, and faster turnaround time (TAT).

Fast to learn, easy to operate.  The Genie Software uses intuitive graphics and two mouse-click navigation for simplified operation, and provides a comprehensive status at a glance.  The replacement of bulk reagents and waste bottles is quick and strain-free.
